AI music glossary
The essential terms for understanding what an AI song generator does, what it produces and what to check before using a track.
- AI song generator
- Software that turns a text description or user-provided lyrics into a track with music, arrangement and, when requested, sung vocals.
- Music prompt
- The description given to the generator: theme, genre, mood, instruments, vocal type and narrative details that guide the result.
- Generated lyrics
- Song words proposed by AI. On vibesongs.ai they are shown before audio generation so the user can approve or edit them.
- Instrumental track
- A track without sung vocals, often used under videos, podcasts, presentations or study sessions.
- Stem
- A separate audio track containing one part of a mix, such as vocals, drums or bass. vibesongs.ai does not currently promise stem export.
- MP3
- A compressed, lightweight audio format suited to listening, sending and sharing.
- WAV
- An uncompressed audio format commonly preferred for editing because it retains more signal data.
- Commercial license
- Contractual permission to use a track in monetized or professional work. On vibesongs.ai it is associated with Pro; the terms in force when the song is created control.
- Public song
- A track made accessible through a shareable page. New songs are private by default until the user explicitly publishes them.
- Remix
- A newly generated variation based on a previous track's directions, potentially changing style, instruments or interpretation.
